Michigan Democratic Party
The Michigan Democratic Party believes that government must be open, honest, responsive, and accountable to the people it serves.
All people of Michigan should have the freedom and the opportunity to rise as high as their talents and initiative will allow; in order to do this, we believe everyone should be able to maintain a standard of living that includes safe shelter, reliable infrastructure [such as roads, electricity, and internet], and effective and inclusive healthcare. The MDP platform embodies our core values of fairness and responsibility, and a commitment to the common good. To that end, the MDP has articulated their stance on four key tenets - Opportunity, Community, Security, and Accountability in Public Service. Project 83
Project 83 is a grassroots initiative launched by MDP Chair Lavora Barnes in 2017. The program seeks to empower local Democrats and activists to organize in their communities, recruit and train volunteers on several aspects of grassroots mobilization, and elect Democrats to local offices.
There are 11 regions in Michigan under Project 83, and each region has an organizer who has expertise in the party and can advise on actions and resources for groups in their region. |
